The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood is a must-visit for science lovers, featuring dinosaur skeletons, gemstones, and exhibits on ancient cultures and wildlife. This is on the expensive side for this list, Adult pricing is $25 and kids are $15.


Pittsburgh Strip District

The Strip District in Pittsburgh is a lively half-mile neighborhood famous for its authentic markets, food stands, and specialty shops where you can stroll, sample affordable eats, and soak up local culture. It is a perfect place to bring your family, and the best part, it is completely free!

Mount Washington

Mount Washington offers some of the best views in Pittsburgh, with scenic overlooks like Grandview Avenue providing free, postcard-worthy city views. Riding the historic Duquesne or Monongahela Incline is an inexpensive way to get there and adds a classic Pittsburgh experience to a budget-friendly visit.

Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium
Now this last one isn’t technically in the city, but still is a lot of fun. The Pittsburgh Zoo is a fun budget-friendly stop where you can explore 77 acres of wildlife with animals from around the world and under the sea. Tickets usually range anywhere between $17 and $23 per person.
