Meet Allie Corser-James

Hello!

My name is Allie Corser-James, and I’m first year graduate student in the creative and strategic media program. I am taking this class to develop hirable skills in the digital field and to become a versatile candidate for the careers I want to pursue. My approach to projects is focused on effective communication. I enjoy having open communication as part of a team, and find I am most effective when I can collaborate and exchange ideas or address issues with others.

Somethings You Should Know!

Last year I started working part time in PENSTV for the Pittsburgh Penguins. I got the job from interning with them in the spring. So far I have had such a great experience being a part of the Penguins team. My main tasks are filming media scrums after games and practices in the locker room. However, I have gotten to assist on major shoots such as Creative Day, and even produce and edit packages for the Jumbotron!
January 2023 I was invited to play for Team USA women’s ice hockey team for the FISU Winter World University Games! The games took play in Lake Placid, NY. I got to live, meet, and watch other athletes competing from all around the world! Some of my favorite moments were getting to be a part of the opening ceremony, getting to compete against Canada in a pack arena, making friends, and trading pins with people from all over the world, and once the games were done party with team Japan!
My mom is originally from Melbourne Australian! She moved to the States after college due to her love of skiing. All of my mom’s side of the family is still all down under and we get to take a 14 hour plane ride to visit every so often! I’m currently in the process of getting my duel citizenship!
