Meet Chris Mcclendon
About Me
Hi! My name is Christian McClendon and I am a freshman double-majoring in Sports Media and Information and Journalism. I grew 10 minutes outside of Pittsburgh in Carnegie, PA. My favorite thing about the city is how bright and lit up it is at night. Living on campus at Duquesne just makes it better because I get one of the best views of how lit up the city is. I love everything about the city of Pittsburgh because it is just beautiful and the sports fan and culture is so welcoming. Now the down side is that I also like the Philadelphia Eagles. People judge me for it, but just because I am a fan of the Eagles doesn’t mean I forgot my roots. I am a proud born and raised Steelers fan as well.
Why This Class?
I am taking this class because it is required for my major. Not only that though, but also because I am open to the possibility of working in social media for an NFL team. This class will help me for experience with whatever career I decide to pursue in the future. The main career I have interest in right now is Sports Photography for either an NFL or NBA team. I am hoping to learn skills for managing social media accounts and marketing strategies.
Fun Fact
My First Steeler Game
A fun fact about me is that I love sports, especially football. I had never been to an NFL game until last year. At the beginning of the 2025-26 season I went to my first Steelers game. It was the second game of the season when the Steelers were playing the Seattle Seahawks at home. I went to the game with my mom, littler sister, and aunt. We went for my sisters birthday just because we could. Up until then I was the only person in my family who had never been to a game before, however I have visited and been in the stadium. We sat so close down towards the second and third sections of the stadium. It felt so electric watching the game live and from that close of a distance. Even though the Steelers lost the first time I seen them live, I want to go to another one.
