Meet Daniel Buckley
Hi, my name is Daniel Buckley. I am a senior double-majoring in Information Systems and Business Analytics. I am far more familiar with the technical side of social media, such as user experience design and SEO, so I thought this class would be a good place to expand my skills.

One thing that I am very proud of myself for is my ability to learn and pick up on new things! This leads me to have many hobbies, ranging from golf and cars to snowboarding and skateboarding. I have found that doing things that bring me joy is a good way to balance my life from work and school, and always welcome a new hobby!

I think one idea that I took from this past year in my life is to do things you might not think you are capable of, and things that you do not want to do! The fear of rejection or defeat, I think, often limits individuals and does not allow them to live up to their true potential! By doing things that you may think are too hard for you, you gain a different perspective on yourself that leads you to better yourself as a person.
For example, one thing I recently did not want to do was redo this project! I had this web blog all done, and was just finishing adding design to my quote and inserting my picture when the site took me to the home page and deleted all my work! Although I don’t want to redo this page, I can change my perspective to look at it as an opportunity to get better at using SquareSpace and learn from my mistakes.

How to Manage a Social Media Page
Since I do not have really any social media pages where I would post regularly, I took this class in hopes of learning how to manage a business’s pages to increase outreach and potential customers for a company.
How to implement SEO into practical use
As I stated before, I am much more experienced with the technical side of social media and online presence, such as SEO customer engagement and outreach. However, I do not know how to practically improve those numbers by individual posts and interactions, and that is what I wish to get better at.
Managing multiple platforms
In this era of 10+ major social media apps, it is extremely important for a company to diversify itself in the methods of communication for the consumer; however, I am not very adept with many different platforms besides Instagram or Snapchat. This fact gives the incentive to better learn multiple platforms and their uses.
When I am working on projects, I like to lay out a rough idea of how I envision the plan will go by gathering requirements, plotting out ideas, and finding the most effective way to complete the task. I am fine when working by myself on a project, but I find that working in a group on projects can help to bring out the best aspects of every group member.
This class is not required for either of my majors, but I chose to take it because I am not very familiar with social media and do not necessarily enjoy having a public profile or presence, but I see the value that it can bring to a company to have a well-established social presence.
