Meet donovan cranage

I’m Donovan Cranage, a freshman at Duquesne University studying Sports Information and Media. I’m from Bucks County, Pennsylvania which is about 45 minutes north of Philadelphia. Since a young age I’ve always had a passion for sports, specifically football and the Philadelphia Eagles. As I grew older it became clear that I wanted to pursue working in sports and being able to talk about them for a living.

In the past I’ve taken on multiple different roles to grow my experience. I attended camps in the summer, I announced for my school’s soccer teams, and I hosted and produced my own show that released 37 different episodes. Through these roles I’ve had the honor of meeting people such as NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, former Philadelphia Eagle Thomas Booker IV, Philadelphia Flyers Play by Play Broadcaster Jim Jackson, and many others that have greatly impacted me. Recently at Duquesne I’ve started a role as an analyst in Duquesne Student Television’s “On the Clock,” a show that will run throughout the second semester focusing on the upcoming NFL Draft.

Through my time in this class I am looking to gain a further understanding and gain knowledge on the marketing aspect of social media and how that plays into what I hope to do one day for a living. While I did choose this class to fill a requirement for my degree, I am excited to see how this helps me in my path to working in sports.
