Meet Steffan Egnatz

I’m the guy in the middle

My name is Steffan Egnatz, and I am a 20 year old sophomore from New Jersey. I am currently  a Sports information and media major. I have always had a big love for sports and since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to work in them. I am not sure exactly what field I am interested in but working as a Sports Information Director has recently been something that I have considered, which basically involves writing press releases, managing social media accounts, compiling stats,etc. 

To be honest, I enrolled in this class because my success coach said it would be a good idea. But I also feel like in today’s age, being able to use social media and market effectively with it is so important, so it’s something that I should learn. Also I think learning about stuff such as search engine optimization will be really interesting, along with looking at real life case studies should be really cool.

One fact or detail about myself (not really sure if it’s fun) is that I was born with eleven fingers. On my right thumb I had an extra finger that apparently was fully functional. My mom opted to have it removed though when I was a baby, so now there is just a little scar where it was. I’m not quite sure why this happened, but my mom told me it’s some rare genetic thing, because some old relative of hers had the same thing but never got it removed. On another note, I am just looking forward to learning more about social media as a whole. Like I said before, it is something that is extremely important, especially in a business aspect, so learning and understanding it more will be a good thing.
