How KOT4Q went from YouTube videos to sitting courtside
Kenny “KOT4Q” Beecham is a basketball content creator whose rise in sports media is a display of hard work and modern marketing.
Beecham began posting on YouTube in 2012 when he posted a Madden 13 video. He wouldn't begin posting heavily until 2015 when he began pumping out content for NBA 2K16. He would post Pro-Am gameplay, but these types of videos were nothing new or exciting, so they did not garnish much attention. It wasn't until he began MyGM videos did he see his hard work pay off & he found his niche. Beecham would go on to post several creative videos with the 2K series for years and his MyGM videos where he would “rebuild” NBA teams and make fictitious trades/signings/draft picks were amongst the popular videos in the 2K community.
Beechams ability to take a video game and treat it as something so realistic really intrigued audiences and his witty personality matched with his basketball knowledge was quickly picked up on by viewers. Beechams videos were gaining popularity, but so was his personality.
During his videos he would often make remarks on his favorite basketball team, the Chicago Bulls. His love for the Bulls was well documented and eventually his personality and way of speaking would open opportunities off the computer screen.
Beecham currently hosts a podcast on enjoybball.com, a popular sports media company with 46.7 thousand X followers. Beecham is also a FanDuel parter, a popular sports betting company & these opportunties he has in real media have led him to exciting in person opportunities.
Beecham is often sitting courtside at various NBA games throughout the season to promote content for FanDuel and enjoybball. His hard work from a video game to getting paid to sit courtside at NBA games is a spectacular case of the power of social media.
