Influencer Marketing Taking Over?



Why is influencer marketing important?

Going on through the years, we notice that influencers are the way that brands are gaining more customers. Influencer marketing is a type of digital media. When someone sees their favorite influencer liking something, they will most likely go and buy that product. Influencers are there to convince you to buy something even if they may not like it themselves. Some influencers may be selfish and just want the money from the deal of the company. Others are very trustworthy and will tell the truth on a product that they like. The influencers that are promoting for brands, are paid to show off their brand.

Influencer marketing is huge because lots of people look to famous people to tell them what to buy, and if it's good or not. Lots of people use TikTok to see if certain things are worth buying. TikTok is huge for influencers who are trying to promote different brands.


Example

The donut and coffee brand, Dunkin, partnered up with Charli D’amelio to promote their coffee. Charli became very popular on TikTok between 2019-2021. She now has 152 million followers on TikTok. Charli originally was famous because of her dancing. She then joined season 31 of Dancing With The Stars because TikTok helped her grow her career. She is considered the biggest TikTok influencer. Charli had gone to Dunkin so much that they offered her to name her favorite drink after herself. In September of 2022, the “Charli” drink became a huge thing in the coffee business. Due to so many people loving Charli, Dunkin was busier than Starbucks. Dunkin was smart and used the biggest star of TikTok to promote their coffee. Dunkin is still using Charli to promote, but they used Ben Affleck for the SuperBowl commercial.

Here attached is a video of Charli herself, shocked that she has her own drink named after herself. She shows the physical receipt to show the audience that it says “Charli Drink”. Seeing her shocked that a dream has come true, inspired many little girls to push to achieve their own dreams. Charli getting her own drink, had helped many different age groups to achieve their own dreams and goals.

Here is a video of Charli combining many different videos to show herself actually drinking her own product. This is a huge way to get buyers to buy what the influencer is showing off. When the influencer doesn't like the product, or show it off then why should the consumer buy it. Charli is super close with her fans, so she tries to prove that she likes what/who she is partnering with on a product. Charli has become a huge influencer for Dunkin because she is a TikTok star. There are now many videos on TikTok of people reviewing the “Charli Drink” and their true opinions of it.


STAT:

Here is just a fun statistic about influencer marketing. More than half of consumers that follow influencers say they are more likely to buy from a brand that partners with an influencer.

When people hear someone they look up to say they like a certain pair of shoes, coffee, or makeup they will most of the time go buy it. Not everyone sees it this way, but many people will buy what they see influencers using. 

On every app there is, we will always see influencers trying to promote a brand. There are many different influencers that promote different things, but I found Charli D’amelio’s Dunkin partner huge. Without influencer marketing, most kids would not have a lot of the things they do now. Influencer marketing is everywhere you go, from billboards to apps on our phones. In the upcoming years, influencer marketing will be even bigger than it is now.

I have attached a video of Charli promoting her second drink partnered with Dunkin. The original Charli drink, but remixed. Just adding cold foam to the top of the original drink. They decided to add cold foam because it had been the beginning of winter.

Attached is an ad from Dunkin to promote Charli’s birthday. birthday. This ad is to get her fans to buy her favorite things.

Influencer marketing is so big because the younger generation are expecting influencers to influence us to buy things that they like. Without influencer marketing, many different social platforms would not be as bog as they are.
