All Twitter marketers are after one thing, and that is more followers. Here is how you do it.
Have a marketing strategy
When first joining Twitter, it seems like a terrifying and huge online forum. To make the network seem a little smaller you must know your brand and target your audience. Knowing your brand and your target audience work hand in hand.
The breakdown of demographics by age include:

You have to understand the role your product or service plays into people's daily lives. Be aware of social changes; the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed new ways of online consumerism. Observe these changes and capitalize on the opportunity due to these enhanced situations.
Part of having a marketing strategy includes, creating unique and engaging content. Tweets are limited to 280-characters, now doubled from the original 140-characters. That doesn’t mean you should use all 280-characters. Twitter was originally much more text based; today it doubles as a picture/video sharing platform. To get more engagement on your Tweets you should include a visual. There are many reasons to include a picture or video with your Tweet. One reason is for users scrolling through your account, your Twitter page should be able to be viewed similar to a timeline. If there is too much content that is all over the place, it will be hard for a user to focus and build a connection with the profile. It could be estimated that about a quarter of all Tweets include an image, GIF, or video. Tweets with images, GIFs or videos tend to perform better than those without. However, this does not mean that every single Tweet should include an image, to make your Twitter account thrive it is best to mix things up.
2. Perfect your account
The first thing to do after creating a marketing strategy and content for the marketing strategy, it’s time to create your Twitter account. The most important part of the profile is going to be your bio. Twitter bios are indexed by search engines, so this may well be people’s first point of contact with you.. Next step is to add a profile picture. If you are creating an account for a brand, the best option is your logo designed in a circular shape. Having an unprofessional profile picture is an immediate turn-off for people looking for reliable information. If you can, put real people in the profile picture. Having a person smiling in your profile picture creates an instant feeling of trust from the viewer. Now it is time to add a location to your Twitter bio. If your brand is geographically constrained to a particular neighborhood or city. You might be surprised at how engaged local influencers are. Whether they’re journalists, small businesses or local celebrities, you definitely want these people on board. Part of creating an online community begins with the people in your geographical community.
Now you are ready to begin Tweeting. Even if you haven’t amassed many followers yet, don’t worry! Twitter is one of the more difficult social networks to gain followers on. To gain initial followers you must have your content ready. Put out an intro tweet with an engaging video with a clever caption. After posting the Tweet you should “Pin” it to your account. Pinning puts one Tweet at the top of your account. This should be where your most important Tweet goes. Did you just post the link to the newest episode of your podcast? Pin it. Did you just release a new original video? Pin it. Are you trying to boost traffic to a specific blog post? Pin it. Lastly, you should begin following people. Follow relevant people who fit into your target demographic. See who they follow. If you think their interests align with your brand, give them a follow, but not randomly or according to an automated scheme. With intent. With relevance. People can tell if your plan is to follow them, wait until they follow back, then unfollow them. And people hate that. Follow people you legitimately want to follow. If they’re impressed with your content they’ll follow you back.
3. Maintain your account
At this point, you should be quickly gaining followers, now how do we keep these followers? Researchers in Korea found that half of unfollows happen when an account tweets too frequently in a short time. (What’s responsible for the other half? Boring content—no kidding.) Even if the tweets are amazing, flooding your followers’ timelines is going to be annoying to the vast majority of them. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tweet consistently, you should!
