Digital Content Creation in Today's World

Creating content in today's world is a big thing in our society in 2021 to bring out news in the world and what is going on in a person's daily life. There are all kinds of content in the world from videos of athletes doing amazing things and photos of skylines, nature and views of cities. With content being such a big part in today's world, how are we able to live without content or creating our own content?
BEST CONTENT FOR INFORMATION
According to HubSpot, "Creating content is the ultimate inbound marketing practice. When you create content, you’re providing free and useful information to your audience, attracting potential customers to your website, and retaining existing customers through quality engagement." When it comes to creating content, there is a risk of what type of information we are saying while making/editing the post or video. This semester, I took a course on Sports journalism and reporting and the number 1 rule to writing a good story is to tell the truth always. Last year during the pandemic, I saw plenty of false information on social media that caused a lot of turmoil and hate.
STARTING YOUR CONTENT
Starting the idea of creating content whether if it is for a business or someone's daily life is difficult because there are plenty of people who are inexperienced with creating and marketing content by way of more followers and viewers. According to INC, "However, while pretty much every small business and startup understands the value of content marketing, it can be a scary thought to dive right in. Your competitors or the people you look up to are regularly posting long-form, in-depth blog posts, launching podcasts, or dipping their toes into the world of video, and it seems overwhelming." As someone who wants to get into the broadcasting and reporting industry, it can be scary at times. Whether if it is talking in front of an audience or just in front of a camera, it is something that I had to get adjusted quickly because I used to mispronounce a word or pause more time than what was necessary.
TECHNIQUES TO START YOUR CONTENT
When you start posting content on the internet for a blog, a good way to start with getting more readers is having a good headline. To make a headline useful in a post, anytime we’re searching online, we’re actively looking for answers or information. Making headlines useful for your audience helps grab their attention as they’re looking for information. According to the Nielsen Norman Group, the headline has to somewhat be out of context. “We often think of headlines as being connected with the associated story. However, on the web, headlines usually appear out of context in places such as search results, social-media streams, blog posts, and news feeds.” To create more followers and viewers, the headline is key because if it is breaking news or a quote that sounds interesting, then people are going to click and read what the person who wrote that article said.
STRATEGY
Developing a strategy to creating content is different for everybody because there are different opinions of how they go about their business. Content can help your company achieve a number of different marketing goals. The thing is, not all content works the same way for all goals. It needs to be created with your end goal in mind. That way, you can ensure that every blog post, every guest-contributed article, every video, and every whitepaper your team produces will work together to work for you. Three key ways how an individual or a team can do to improve their strategy on creating content are:
Buyer Personas: Know who you are creating the content for and know who the audience is.
Topic Research: Need to know as much information as possible and to be truthful to the audience who sees the posts.
Editorial Workflow: Have a plan to know at what time of the day you are going to post your content and what day(s) you are going to post. The workflow also determines how one is going to create the right content for the audience.
BEING THE BEST
To become the best content creator an individual or a team of individuals can be, it takes a lot of time, effort and resilience. The biggest thing to be the best is to keep up with not just the work, but to write often and be current. Change in the content industry happens fast, and ongoing education is important. That means not only do you have to create content that people love, you also have to read others’ content. The best content creators are curious and look for topics their target audience likely cares about. Learn from others and connect the dots to understand how what you glean may affect your prospects. Be up-to-date and very knowledgeable about all facets of your industry, not just what’s immediately relevant to you.
