How to Better Your Instagram Stories

Instagram has posts, stories, and reels. It is even proven that, “About half of Instagram’s monthly users are using Stories. That’s 500 million people posting 1 billion Stories every day. And about 62% of those people say they’ve become more interested in a brand or product after seeing it in their Stories.” Instagram stories are easy to click through and are an easy way to even promote your own Instagram post. But sometimes they can be very boring and not catch the eye of new customers. Here are some ways you can better your Instagram stories.


  1. Adding Stickers or GIFs

    You can add so many things to your instagram stories but stickers are my number one recommendation to add. These stickers can be GIF stickers or motionless ones. Adding stickers to your Instagram story is a way to make your stories pop and its a way to express your mood. Stickers are also a way to make your stories more attractive for newer customers and even current ones. You can look up stickers that are the same theme as your post to make your stories more interesting.

2. Adding Hashtags

By adding hashtags you can reach more people and that way you can get more views. In another blog post on how to make instagram stories better than ever they say that, “Adding a hashtag to your Story makes it discoverable to a wider audience, as it may be selected by the Instagram algorithm to appear on the page for that hashtag.” If you want more people to see your Instagram stories then adding a hashtag is the perfect way to do that. People look up hashtags on instagram to look at the things they are interested in, so using tags that are similar to your post will allow more people to look at your story and gain interest in whatever you are posting about.

3. Adding Location

Adding a location gives your followers an insight into where you go and your interests. It is also another way to gain a larger reach on you content. “Often, businesses have a Location Page (which users can find by tapping a hashtag or searching in the Explore tab). If your Story ends up there, you could end up with a lot more views.” Also, if you put the location of your store then more people will be able to find you easier. Especially if you add pictures of your products and then add the location of your store you will increase your customer size.

4. Adding a Link

If you add a link to your story then you can link your website, a product or a post from a different social media site. With Instagram’s new ‘Instagram shopping’ you can also link a place to find your products and buy them on Instagram. Adding this link will allow more people to view your brand and buy products.

5. Add Story Highlights to your Profile

This new feature that Instagram added is the best way to keep your stories around. You can also categorize the things you post into these Instagram highlights so your customers can go back to them and view past posts. Besides your posts that are on your feed forever by adding your stories to your highlights you can also put frequently asked questions there. Say you have a Q & A with your customers, instead of that only being up for 24 hours you can put it onto your profile so new customers can read all the answers you gave and learn more about your brand.
