Promotion and Tracking of Intro Blog

Promotion Tools - Email and LinkedIn
My Approach
My approach to this assignment was by first going onto Square Space and finding my Intro Blog link. I then took my link and created the two URL’s one for LinkedIn and one to send out on email. I took the email link and sent it out to family and close friends and also texted them a personal message letting them know I was emailing them a link and to check it out for a class. Without texting them that I was sending them an email they would not have seen it or wouldn’t have actually opened it. I then used the other link and made a post on my LinkedIn, writing a little message telling people about the class/assignment and to check my intro to blog. Also using hashtags to get more possible viewers. After I posted the LinkedIn post and sent out the emails I waited two days before checking results.

Results Recap
After two days, looking at my data, Email obtained more data then LinkedIn. The significance between the two is not overwhelmingly in Email’s favorite. Which is surprising to me because I sent out more emails to people I know compared to my following and previous engagement on LinkedIn. The email link had more engagement on the site, which makes sense because I sent it to people I know so they took the time to go through the blog and read my whole website rather than just clicking on and off of it or scrolling past it like they would on LinkedIn.
What I learned
For next time, when posting things like this on social media I will do more research beforehand on how to do a better job grabbing people’s attention. I think because I don’t use LinkedIn often and have very little engagement on there, posting on other platforms like Facebook or Instagram would’ve given me better statistics. Also, I need to give myself more time to let the data collect. I only gave two days for engagement and that’s why my views are not as high as they could be. So, next time I’d like to optimize time more. Overall, my data was not surprising and I enjoyed being able to post and track my own data. Now I have this new skill.
