Digital Strategy: Pittsburgh Riverhounds
Purpose: Before the Riverhounds dive into this, we must realize our purpose. Increased ticket sales & bringing new fans to games is the surface goal, but to achieve this goal we need to understand why we want this. We do not just want the sale; we want the future; meaning we want these new attendees to be future attendees as well.
Content: We are targeting people who are already soccer fans so we do not want to simply emphasize the game, we must promote the external factors in our content to stand out and entice.
First and foremost, the Riverhounds should promote their beautiful stadium with a fantastic river and city view. To get this point across, we need to get drone footage during a night game that goes over the stadium and shows the bright city lights and breathtaking aura. We could make this an Instagram reel using a trending sound to hopefully gain exposure to teens-young adults who use Reels.
This reel should be a collaboration post with @stufftodoinpittsburgh, this is a popular Instagram account with over 100k followers, and its primary audience is adventurous people in the Pittsburgh region, perfect for us to get new people to the stadium.
After our reel is posted we should boost the post to try and increase our chances of going viral. With the Riverhounds already popular following, a collaboration post with a target audience as well as the viral nature of Instagram reels should intrigue a good amount of potential new ticket buyers.
Now that we have people intrigued, we need to promote actual information so people know how they can experience a Riverhounds game. This is where advertised story posts on Instagram and Facebook come into play. We will work with a graphic designer to create a slick graphic with ticket prices, deals, a link to the website and a snippet of the Riverhounds' next 10 home games. This allows for the graphic to be timely for a couple of weeks and makes information easily accessible for people of all ages.
We will pay for this graphic to be advertised on Instagram,Facebook,X and Snapchat as far as social media goes. We will also pay for this graphic to be advertised on sports websites across the internet and have a hyperlink so when people click on the ad it takes you directly to the Riverhounds ticket site.
With these factors in place, a reel with extreme viral nature as well as advertisements with key details being spread across social media and the world wide web, it will certainly earn the Riverhounds more fans for the present and the future.
