Raheem Intro

What’s good?!

My name is Raheem Perry. Raheem isn’t my first name, just my preference. Hopefully this counts as my “something you should know about me, but didn’t ask.”

I am a Graduate Assistant at Duquesne. I am pursuing my MFA in Film and Photography. I am taking this class to further my skill in social media marketing. I plan on adding it to apart of my skillset for my entrepreneurial goals. My approach to school and work has always been prepare early and relax early. I dislike last minute work, even though sometimes it just happens like that. Usually I am ahead of schedule to free up my time.

• The first thing I want to get out of this class is further knowledge of organizing and planning posts.

• Become more comfortable with social media I am not comfortable with. I have only had success with Instagram. I never enjoyed Twitter or Snapchat and never made a Tic Tok. My students at one of my jobs use it and it makes me feel kind of old(er).

• The last thing I want to get out of this class is more experience with other platforms. As well as workflows for content creation.

What 2020 has taught me is that I have a lot more in the tank than I think I have. 2020 brought a lot of frustration, which grew my patience. Especially when you are preparing for a baby and they arrive a month early. 2020 did come with a lot of blessings. Managed to pick up a third job to move me into a more financially stable position to support my family. Got engaged and so much more. Last year just needed a constant need for adaption. Which I can say I have done well.
