Be the Best at Mobile Product Marketing

Let’s face it, it’s 2022, we live in a time where our lives can be conducted in the palms of our hands through our phones. Because of this, companies have spent time adjusting to mobile marketing. What is mobile marketing? Mobile marketing is when marketing campaigns are targeted to mobile users. It’s imperative to make the switch to gain business from a larger market.

Best Practices

There are many sites out there that you can spend endless amounts of time reading for the optimal way to market products via mobile. However, I took the time to research for you and compiled what I thought were some of the best practices to abide by when mobile marketing.

  • There’s no way you can engage your customers to follow through with a product purchase if the website is not compatible with mobile devices. There are many site builders out there that give the ability to adjust the site specifically for mobile.

Here are some ways to adjust your site for mobile:

    • Expandable content

    • Bullet points or lists

    • Bold or italic text

    • Highlighted important pieces

    • HTML headings

  • Once the website is tested and proven to be mobile friendly, the brand can be moved to social media. Find the apps that apply to the target audience and get the word out to gain brand and product awareness. Not only do the algorithms of these platform allow catering the ads to the right people, but they also allow for social engagement.

  • Apps bring the mobile marketing game up as companies can personalize each customer’s shopping experience. Remaining signed into an account on an app allows for favorites and previous purchases to be maintained and adjust which products to advertise. Apps can also send push notifications to continue to draw the user back in. Adding a section into your website dedicated to app download increases mobile action, too.

  • Text message (sms) marketing has many advantages to it. First, it is a highly trackable platform where analytics are easily accessible. There is also the ability for interactivity and immediate delivery to the customer. Finally, it adds a personal touch that being on the website though a mobile browser doesn’t have access to.

  • Customers are drawn more towards brands that have a different look than others. A few things that can be done to be different are sharing a story, using photos, or creating characters.

Common Pitfalls

As humans, it is easy to make mistakes. Here are a few common mistakes made so you can avoid them and think ahead to be more on the ball in the mobile marketing game.

  • It is so important to know your target audience when marketing for a product. Don’t look like a dunce by putting your retirement plan ad on Twitter. Know who you want to reach and what channels you can access them on.

  • Of course, there is going to be some trial and error to discover what works best for your product and company. If you don’t get the data on how your marketing is working, you’ll never know what the best route is.

  • Offer a more personalized experience or exclusive content through sign up of mobile marketing opportunities. Make customers aware of your other channels through social media to give them more benefits and you a chance to have more effective selling to them.

By taking these these lists as the ‘do’s and don’t’s of mobile marketing’, you can be well on your way to majorly increasing sales and awareness with ease.
