Sharing and tracking Google Analytics Liam O’Neil
My approach to the promotion of my article was to do it by email and on my Facebook. I assumed that Facebook was going to be more viewed out of the two and it was. Something that could have helped me get more viewers on the Facebook post would be to preface what the article was about. I just posted the link with no context but if I had talked about what this was, I feel like there would have been more engagement with it. With the email, you can not expect a lot of engagement because most likely the people you are sending it to would be the only people to see it. With that being said the email people were on my page longer because the people I sent the link to were close friends and family as with Facebook anyone can see it so they would probably not be as interested in it as a family would be. I think the optimal way of doing this is by clarifying what the article is you are posting the link to it to ask people to read it fully so your engagement time goes up. The longer people read your article then the more people that it gets pushed through to in the algorithm.

This shows that the profile views had a spike about 2 weeks ago and then it had a recession but as of recently, the views have picked up. It seems that people shared the links more over the last couple of days as you can see from the light blue line which is the total.
