Analytics Assignment

In my Social Media and Digital Marketing class, I was asked to try my hand at promoting my intro blog. To do this, I had to use google analytics for the campaign. This was my first time doing this, so I was definitely out of my comfort zone. However, I was willing to give it a shot, as I figured it might be a tool I can use going forward. I tweet a lot and put out articles often, so I was hoping to see how well my tweets compliment my promotion of my articles. I used Email and LinkedIn for the assignment. Below is the screengrabs of the promotion.

In the end, I found that the email did a lot better than the LinkedIn post did. Now, the LinkedIn post did do a lot better in terms of engagement with the post itself. But, when it comes down to it, the rate of people that clicked the link and read it was pretty subpar. I think it was because I might not have given them a catchy hook. It is a pretty bland post. So I wish I could go back and change it, but also I used the same exact description for email so that the results weren’t skewed, and the three people I emailed clicked the link.

I also think doing this on X would have been better. I have a larger base of followers there, with my current count being at 400. However, to play devils advocate, my Duquesne basketball tweets are the only ones that get good traction, so the post might not have done as well in theory.
