Salesforce - Social Media Audit
What is Salesforce?
Salesforce is an American cloud-based software company that provides businesses with tools that help them find more prospects, close more deals, and provide a higher level of service to their customers, overall providing CRM services. Salesforce is a popular CRM tool for support, sales, and marketing teams worldwide. Salesforce services allow businesses to use cloud technology to better connect with partners, customers, and potential customers. Using the Salesforce CRM, companies can track customer activity, market to customers, and many more services.
A CRM platform helps for customers go deeper in all their metrics and data. Customers could also set up a dashboard that showcases data visually. In addition, users can also have personalized outreach with automation. Another significant benefit is that a CRM platform can also improve customer service's ability to help customers or a sales team's outreach efforts.
From observation and analysis, Salesforce’s most active platforms are Instagram and LinkedIn. Because Salesforce works with various companies and customer are workers, they utilize the platforms where majority of their demographic is viewing content.
Salesforce: Platform Analysis
Salesforce has three main platform where they are posting their social media content: Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. After completing the audit, the findings were intriguing to learn how SalesForce displays content differently in each social platform they are active on.
Instagram for Salesforce is where they are posting a lot of their active content. It was noticeable how many video contents were posted on this platform compared to the other platforms. The verified account also optimizes using hashtags so more individuals will be brought to their page and view their content. This attracts more users to their main page and take the time to view some content that was made to attract customer toward their products.
Salesforce’s largest platform on social media is arguably LinkedIn. Not only is Salesforce verified but has been listed as one of the Top Companies on LinkedIn. With almost 4 million connection/followers, this is where Salesforce will make active post consistently throughout the day, post upcoming events, list different job opportunities all around the world, and so much more. With Salesforce customers coming from various companies, it makes sense why they would choose a more mature workplace platform for displaying their company products. Something Salesforce offers on LinkedIn, which is unique, they have a section where you can click on adding one of their products as a skill to your own personal LinkedIn, bringing the customer and company together just like in their mission statement. With various event’s they offer throughout the year, it is to see when these events are taking place and even easier once you click on it to try joining the event. It is clearly evident Salesforce works hard on running this platform and utilizing all the platforms resources to their advantage.
Facebook for Salesforce is most likely one of their weakest content platforms. They do actively post however it is not different content that is seen on Instagram or LinkedIn. One interesting thing I noticed as I view their page, if a customer has a question they post in the comments, someone from salesforce with reply back with an answer. Salesforce almost uses this platform as another way to contact services and is engaged with their customers, most replies happening within an hour.
Overall Salesforce does a relative job of engaging their customers on their social platforms and utilizing their resources. In different platforms there are many opportunities they could use in posting their content (ex: Insta stories, brand deals, etc). It would be interesting to see if Salesforce later on in the future expanded into other platforms and found ways to creatively post about their company.
