Meet Allison Frazer
Hello!
My name is Allison Frazer and I am a junior Advertising and English writing concentration double major and Women’s & Gender Studies minor. I am taking this class partially because it is a requirement for my Advertising major, but I am also looking to learn the best practices for creating engaging content that pops on social media to gain traction. I find outlines are the most important tool when creating any project. A loose outline provides me with reminders as to what my end goal of a project should be as well as highlighting small requirements of a project I might have overlooked. I determine my goal for my project, then chart my way there through an outline. Then, I chip away at that outline over time to reach my end product.

Inspiration
“It’s a possibility. That is to say, it’s a possibility that we are reaching the end of possibility.”
This quote comes from my favorite book, The Midnight Library, by Matt Haig. While the quote seems confusing, it reminds me that anything is possible and our time is limited. Therefore, you should reach for what you want while you still can. Why should I spend life being any less happy than I could be?
My Fun Fact
I am an avid crocheter! I have been crocheting for about three years seriously. The learning process has been long and difficult, but time after time I was called back to the craft because of the creative outlet it provides me. Below are some of my more recent projects. Lately, I have also taken on knitting because of the classic look it provides. Just this week I started my very first knit sweater! The process of both these crafts can be slow, but I love the journey.
Three things I would like to get out of this class:
I would like to have a better understanding and feel more comfortable creating post for social media sites.
Gain a better understanding of what SEO is and the best way to write SEO that stands out.
Grow in a professional manner that will give me an edge in my career.
What I’m bringing from last year into this year
Last year, I learned that I cannot produce work that I am proud of if I do not put the same effort into taking care of myself. I ran myself ragged last year trying to put my all into everything. I had to make sacrifices to make that system work, and unfortunately something I sacrificed was taking care of my body. I cut workouts to do homework and opted for easier food options than ones that made me feel good. This year, I am going to take time to care for my physical and mental health and allow my work to follow.
