Meet Robbie Caresani
Meet Me!
Hey there! I’m Robbie Caresani, a sophomore in Digital Media, and I am very excited about this class. Growing up, I was always infatuated with YouTube and spent way too much time watching many videos, mostly Minecraft Let’s Plays, but this almost became an obsession. If you look into the deep dark corners of the internet, you might be able to find a handful of YouTube accounts starring a younger me playing different video games. Although I never stuck to it for long, my time messing around with YouTube and video recording and editing programs always stayed with me and would prove useful in the future. These core childhood memories spiked when I saw this class listed and enthusiastically clicked add! I hope to learn more skills that help me pursue this passion, to learn how my childhood YouTubers found success, and to help narrow down exactly what field I want specialize in.
You Didn’t Ask But…
“It ain’t no sin to be glad you’re alive”
Music is a very vital part of my life. I’ve been going to concerts big and small since I was little. My first big show was seeing U2 at Heinz Field when I was just 5 years old. Since then I’ve seen everyone from Bruce Springsteen 4 times to Bob Dylan 6 times even to Post Malone twice and many many more. I can easily attribute this love of music, especially live music, to my Father who has been involved in the music scene for a very long time as a musical impresario in and around Pittsburgh. We’ve been lucky enough to discover my soon-to-be step-brother, Connor Parente, who is a wondrous singer-songwriter. The journey with him has been very exciting and has taught me that hard work pays off, which I hope continues into this new year. He was named YEP artist of the week and that came with a very nice article about him. His debut album is coming out this spring, produced by Emmy Award-winning and Pittsburgh legend Rick Witkowski, and features five musicians who have played with Bruce Springsteen. Parente also played at the Light Of Day Winterfest in Asbury Park, NJ at the Stone Pony where he shared Bruce Spingsteen’s lead guitarist from the night before. With three singles already out, I encourage everyone to check out his Spotify and also his website to see where he is playing next!
