Meet Liam O’Neil

Hello, my name is Liam O’Neil, I am a junior Sports Information and Media major. My reason for taking this class is required for my minor which is Digital Media Arts. My approach for projects and just school in general is to try to enjoy it as much as I can. Also just try to take at least one thing out of every project I do that can help me in the future.

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”- Wayne Gretzky. This quote is important to me because it can apply to all aspects of life. You could apply it when you are looking for a job or taking a chance on your future. Everything in life is about chance its just about who capitalizes on the opportunities they are given. If you are given an opportunity to change your life, why not take it? What is the worst thing that can happen?

Something the readers should know about me is I am very passionate about anything in my life. Whether it is sports which I love or school I apply my all to everything I am doing. I feel like if you are not going to try to do your best in everything that you do then why try to do it at all?

Three things that I would like to get out of this class would one be to learn more about the data analytics side of digital marketing. It was interesting to see the Google Analytics from the last class. Another thing I want to learn is what is the most appealing thing for consumers to see from advertisers to get traction on a website. The other thing I was interested in this class is learning about which social media is better for marketing and why.

What did I learn in 2024?

One thing that I learned in 2024 was that if you put in the work you will see results. Whether that is from school or working out in the gym, you only thing you get out of life is what you put in it. You can not expect great things to just come into your life if you are not putting effort into making you the best version of yourself. Especially in school if you are not putting in the proper level of effort then it will be reflected in your grades. I think college is here to prepare you for your future and you can do with that as you will.
