How using mobile marketing strategies could help get the most of your ad

Almost everybody these days has a cell phone. If you are an advertiser out there, then you want to make the most out of it. There are many ways that you can promote your product or ideas on websites but they all don’t matter if you can’t get the message across to the most and best audience.

What to post and where…

Getting your ad to the right audience is a huge factor in advertising. You need to know what audience you want to advertise to so you get the most interest. It is kind of similar to what the Neilson Ratings are for. It is to get your product to the best audience who are in the right market and may be in the market to get one. You don’t want advertise your baby toys on an article about a bank robbery in downtown Pittsburgh. It just wouldn’t make sense and no one would notice it.

If you go to any website, you can see many examples of this. One of my favorite examples of this are ads in the official NHL website or app. Of course, they cover news and games from the NHL. As a hockey fan myself, I frequently go to the app to get up to date on my news. I always see advertisements that have something to do with the NHL in some capacity. For example, I frequently see Expedia ads on their website. This makes sense because if you want to see your favorite team play when they're not at home, you would want to know how to travel. That’s where Expedia and their ad comes in. You see that and keep it in the back of your mind for the next time you want to travel.

Out with the old, in with mobile…

It’s easy to see that mobile is taking over the digital world. You don’t see everyone walking around, holding up a computer to consume their media. But what you do see is people holding up their phones while walking down the street. Those are potential consumers for your ad. As the years are going by, mobile ads are going to be way more valuable than website ads on a desktop. According to Smart Insights, smartphone has overtaken desktop for ad spending. This proves that mobile ads are taking over as the new, main form of advertising.
