Tracking Data and Publishing: Isaiah Summerlin
When it came to making a trackable link for my Intro to Me blog, I first went to our blogs to grab mine off the student page. I used Google’s UTM Builder and made trackable links for LinkedIn and one for email. Though I have never used LinkedIn before this class, I think it was a good first post just to get some information about me on the app. I sent the email to some family and friends and posted the LinkedIn using the same picture I used for my Intro to Me blog. I just posted it due to the assignment being at 6 pm so I haven’t yet seen the progress and data come through yet. What I did to try and boost my views was put hashtags for my post on LinkedIn. I used #pursuepersuade, #assignment2, and #firstpost. I know the first post hashtag will at least get some recognition because it does on any app. I used the hashtag pursue persuade so people know what app my link is sending to them too and maybe someone has had experience using it as well. I think the link that will get the most users is LinkedIn just because it is a broader app that is built on expanding your profile.
I think what I will optimize for next time is trying to use my link for different apps. Instagram and X would be the two that I would try and pursue because I have more of a following on both of those. I was only emailing certain people and just posted my first LinkedIn post so I feel like if I had a big platformed app to post on the data could be better. I think this skill that I have developed will be huge for me in the media world because I will know how to create links for players and teams.
