Hi all,

The best way to introduce myself is to introduce the work that I do. Currently I am a Social Media Intern with the Pittsburgh Penguins. This job entails writing copy, brainstorming content and maintaining the team’s website.

My previous work includes Strategic Communications with the University of Pittsburgh, Media Relations with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Gameday Operations at Duquesne.

Within these roles, I have focused on becoming a strong writer and sharing compelling news with the public. I have a passion for storytelling through different mediums and I love what I do!

Personal

Now that my work life is established, here is what I do for fun!

My hobbies include running/exercising, spending time with friends/family, and (of course) cheering on the Bills.

This Fall, one of my hobbies reached its pinnacle. In October, I assembled a group of my friends and convinced them to run a half marathon with me. We all completed it and had a blast!

I also love to vacation with my family. My favorite destinations have been San Antonio, Atlanta, New Orleans and Nashville. This spring, we will be heading down to Cancun!

This is a very important quote to me. It embodies the consistency needed to achieve success. I interpret it to mean that every little task adds up to achieve the large goals. You can’t reach what you want overnight, it takes time, patience and discipline. I carry this mentality through everything that I do.

Class

In Social Media and Digital Marketing, I would like to understand three concepts. The first is copywriting. I look forward to strengthening my copywriting and brainstorming process. I would also like to understand how to write for different demographics and how to cater the copy to not only the audience, but also accurately reflect the post itself. The third concept I would like to understand is how to streamline the content creation process. I would like to become quicker at storyboarding and producing content. I believe that understanding all three concepts is an obtainable goal to have for this class.

2024 to 2025

I learned (the hard way) at the end of 2024 that you have to take time for yourself. I became very absorbed with trying to get better at everything, and I did not have many hobbies that were for leisure or for myself. Everything I did was about improvement, but I lost sight of the boundaries I was pushing. Now, in 2025, after seeking external help, I have hobbies that aren’t necessarily productive, but help my mental state.

Coursework

For Assignment 2, which can be viewed by clicking on the name, we were tasked with using Google Analytics to provide insight into the mediums used to access our website and the engagement time of the users.

For Assignment 3, which can be viewed by clicking the name, we were tasked with auditing a professional social media account. I chose to audit the NHL and study how it interacted with fans across different social media platforms.
