Meet Tristan Huyett
Hi, I’m Tristan Huyett. I am a Junior Sports Information and Media major here at Duquesne. I just transferred here last semester and hope to become a beat writer for a sports team after I graduate.
I am taking this class to further my understanding on social media and its uses in the business world, as well as learn about digital marketing since I don’t really have any prior knowledge on it. When it comes to school projects, I tend to try and be as creative as possible, and try to finish work ahead of time, so that I can go back and make changes as I see fit.

Three Things I Would Like To Get Out Of Class This Semester Is:
How to maximize the use of social media
Establish an understanding of Digital Marketing
Learn how to properly use sites like linkedin and squarespace
Something I learned last year that I am bringing into this year: I function better and accomplish more during the day on an established everyday routine.

2 Things I learned about my work:
I like working in a group setting and enjoy bouncing ideas off of other people. I enjoyed coming up with an idea and getting feedback from group members. It felt like it was a good way to eliminate filler ideas, and also take a good idea and expand on it. I even reached out to classmates for feedback on individual projects. In the future, I plan on doing the same.
I learned the importance of SEO. There are so many people out there trying to make the same type of content as you are. With the internet being such a crowded place, and steps you can take to separate yourself from that crowd, should be taken. By using SEO to make sure your website contains keywords, and is easy to use, your website is more likely to be found. By knowing how search engines like google work, you can put yourself in a good position for success.
